thelondonpaper Pulls Away From London Lite

Man Reading A Paper January saw thelondonpaper pull away from its big rival London Lite, recording a circulation increase of more than 6% month on month.

The London Lite‘s circulation remained relatively static month on month, leaving it with a total figure of more than 400,000 copies, whilst thelondonpaper‘s circulation reached more than 435,000 copies, an additional 109,225 on the ABC figure it recorded in September.

The Evening Standard meanwhile saw an increase of around 5% on December, to take its circulation to more than 276,000 copies.

At the end of January, Evening Standard editor, Veronica Wadley, bullishly predicted that readers would be returning to the title having tried London’s afternoon free papers (see Editor Says Readers Returning To The Standard)

Morning business freesheet City AM experienced a small increase of 1.1%, whilst the Metro was down by 1.2% over the same period, leaving it with a circulation of just over 548,000.
