Thinkbox Appoints First Creative Agency

Thinkbox Thinkbox, the marketing body for commercial television, has announced the appointment of The Red Brick Road as its first creative agency.

The Red Brick Road was appointed following a four-way strategic pitch – managed by the AAR – and will be responsible for supporting all the communications for Thinkbox’s online, direct marketing and advertising communications, including its website (www.thinkbox.tv), trade advertising campaigns, industry events and awards and all supporting literature.

The Red Brick Road will work chiefly with Thinkbox’s director of marketing and communications, Lindsey Clay.

Clay said: “All four agencies were very impressive; we were honoured that they were all so sincere in their desire to help us.

“We could have successfully worked with any of them but The Red Brick Road showed the deepest strategic understanding of the issues surrounding commercial TV as well as the huge opportunities that the new TV landscape offers advertisers. That helped them edge it. They had a clear and compelling vision for how they can help Thinkbox to deliver its ambitions and develop its wider communications. We really clicked with them.”

Paul Hammersley, managing partner of The Red Brick Road, said: “We don’t pitch often but when we do, we pitch for the things that we care about and that interest us.

“Nothing could be more important than the future of TV and Thinkbox’s task. We’re excited about the chance to help present the strength and potential of TV in the new media landscape.”

In July, Thinkbox published its quarter two review, showing that commercial TV continues to grow.

The research revealed that as digital penetration has expanded, so too have commercial impacts (see Commercial TV Continues To Grow).
