Time Out to begin online rollout across six UK cities

Time Out has announced the launch of a nation-wide city rollout of its website, starting in Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol and Birmingham between now and early 2015.

Each new city will have its own local editor who will curate content from local experts, running alongside national content from the main Time Out London site.

Time Out is also launching a blogger network which will run on individual city sites, covering topics including food, drink, music, art, style and entertainment.

Founded in 1968 in London by Tony Elliott, Time Out currently spans 68 cities across 36 countries with a monthly combined audience of over 33 million.

Rob Martin, who is set to become Time Out Manchester’s digital content producer, said: “Over the years Manchester has given birth to some great cultural icons and has always been a city with an enormously rich pool of homegrown talent.

“With Time Out Manchester we want locals to discover new parts of the city whilst encouraging new visitors from all over the UK. I’m hugely excited to be involved in unlocking the city’s potential and sharing insider recommendations to showcase the best that this city has to offer.”

Tim Arthur, CEO, Time Out Group, added: “Time Out has always had its finger on the pulse of what’s new and what’s best, and following our successful city-roll out in the USA it was only natural to do the same in our home country.

“The UK is home to some of the most vibrant and culturally rich cities in the world. We’re incredibly excited about this next phase in Time Out’s evolution. From Manchester to Moscow, from Leeds to Los Angeles Time Out is inspiring people to make the most of their incredible cities.”

The launch of Time Out Manchester is supported by an outdoor and online campaign across the city’s transport system, cultural hotspots and high traffic areas. The online media will use a combination of audience and search retargeting across desktop and mobile, through networks such as Blis Mobile, Radium One and Captify.
