The Tindle Radio Group has become the latest broadcasting company to carry the Wireless Group’s Eurolink sports bulletins during the forthcoming Euro 2004 football championship in Portugal.
The bulletins, already being syndicated to over 80 radio stations nationwide, will be produced by talkSPORT and distributed throughout the long-awaited tournament, which takes place between 12 June to 4 July.
Sponsorship and advertising around the Eurolink bulletins will be sold by Ipact, The Wireless Group’s sales house.
Tindle Radio joins a long list of broadcasters already signed up to the Eurolink updates, including 16 stations owned by the Wireless Group, all 20 Emap stations and 18 owned by Radio Investments. Around 15 stations owned by UKRD, 6 from the CN Group and a further five from the Kent Messenger Group will also broadcast the bulletins, which will have an overall reach of 20 million adults nationwide.
The stations covered by Tindle’s agreement are the Beach 103.4 FM serving Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, Channel 103 in Jersey, Dream 100 in Tendring, Dream 107.7 broadcasting to Chelmsford, Island FM in Guernsey and Bridge FM in Bridgend.
Commenting on the latest growth of the Eurolink scheme, Ashley MacKenzie, managing director of Impact, said: “The reaction in the market has been unbelievable with radio groups and advertisers alike seeing the huge benefit in Eurolink. Tindle Radio’s six stations make an important contribution to the total package. This further simplifies the buying-process for any advertisers interested in this year’s largest sporting event”.
Eurolink bulletins will be aired five times a day Monday to Saturday and three times a day on Sundays due to various music chart shows on individual stations. Impact predict that 50% of all males aged 16-34 nationwide will be reached by Eurolink.
