Titan Outdoor Extends Network Rail Partnership

Titan Outdoor Extends Network Rail Partnership

Titan Outdoor Titan Outdoor will continue to control outdoor advertising in rail stations across London and other large UK cities for the next decade, after the company extended its partnership with Network Rail.

The new deal signals a three-year extension to the previous contract and aims to capitalise on increased investment from Titan, designed to open up new opportunities in digital advertising.

The partnership covers 17 stations managed by Network Rail, including Waterloo, Victoria, Manchester Piccadilly and Glasgow Central.

Network Rail calculates that the footfall at these stations equates to more than 800 million visitors a year, approximately half of all UK rail journeys are believed to begin or end at these stations.

Jon Slatkin, chief executive of Titan Outdoor, said: “With rail audiences expected to grow by more than 30% in the next 10 years and Network Rail’s significant plans for station re-development, the next decade will offer exciting new opportunities for advertisers to reach their end customers.

“At a time that most media and their audiences are increasingly fragmented, rail offers advertisers one of the few clear routes to consumers.”

Rail travel, digital ad spend and outdoor advertising are all forecast to grow over the next five years and Network Rail has announced a multimillion pound investment into its rail network.

The rail operator has pledged that profits made through extending the partnership will be ploughed back into improving the stations’ facilities.

Recently, Titan’s joint MD, Alison Reay, announced she is to leave the company after 14 months (see Reay Leaves Titan Outdoor).

Reay joined Titan last March along with ex-Viacom Outdoor sales director Andy Moug. Reay is the latest of several employees to leave the outdoor firm following the departures of sales director Steve Atkinson and development director Helen Bouchez, amongst others (see CBS Outdoor Takes Bouchez From Titan).

Reay is leaving following a successful turnaround at Maiden, which was in severe debt when it was acquired by Titan Outdoor last May (see Titan Worldwide Secures Control Of Maiden For £50m).
