TNS Reduces Market Information Revenue Forecasts

Market research group, Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS), says it now expects the global market information industry to grow by 3-5% during 2002; it had previously forecast market growth of up to 5%.

In its AGM statement this morning, TNS said that trading activity has picked up after a slow start to the year. “With the ongoing economic uncertainty, clients have taken a cautious view with regard to market information spend during the first half, but activity is now picking up,” said chairman Tony Cowling.

“After slower growth in the first half, we can expect a stronger performance in the second half of 2002,” he added.
