Tonic Rebrands As Progress Ahead Of Digital Expansion

Progress Strategic communications agency Tonic is to rebrand as Progress, with plans to develop a digital media offering to tackle the next wave of development in electronic media.

Progress’ new digital arm will broaden the agency’s abilities, but requires a third partner to join founders Geoff Seeley and Tim Elton.

Explaining the rebranding and expansion, Seeley said: “We want to announce the new breadth of our business. Alongside our successful strategic planning service we will now be launching the Progress digital offering in response to the way we see the market moving and also demand from our clients. It’s a big move forward and we want it all under one roof.”

“It’s important to stress that Progress will continue to offer a market-leading, strategic planning service, but digital media is top of mind with most clients these days and we felt that we needed to be right at the heart of it – rolling our sleeves up in terms of planning and buying real campaigns – to fully understand the most important development in the industry for decades.”

The company’s new digital offering will not be limited to the internet, however, embracing television, radio, mobile and outdoor. “Digital media has impacted on consumer behaviour as well as offering up a diverse media channel in its own right,” explained Progress co-founder Tim Elton.

“With IP television on the horizon, there is another revolution on the way. We want to maintain and improve on our strong position in strategic planning, where we will continue to recommend the solution that is right for our clients based on a more informed knowledge and also offer clients a far better strategic perspective on how to use digital channels when appropriate.”

Progress’ clients already include several big-name firms, with EasyJet, SC Johnson, Volkswagen and Nestle all employing its services. Seeley added that talks are continuing with more clients, and that the firm is set for further expansion in the coming months.
