Tony Gallagher turns his hands to Moorish cuisine

It would seem that it’s not just graduates struggling to find work; ex-Daily Telegraph editor Tony Gallagher – who was sacked in January, much to everyone’s surprise – has announced that he has started a new job…in a restaurant.

Following an eight year stint at the Telegraph – five of which he edited the newspaper – Gallagher has started work at Restaurant Moro – his “favourite restaurant bar none,” which he informed the world via Twitter yesterday morning.

Gallagher, who was described as being “wedded” to one of the nation’s leading newspapers where he played a pivotal role in the investigation into MP’s expenses, will now turn his efforts to Moorish cuisine.

While his role at the restaurant remains ambiguous – head chef? Front of house? Maître D? Sommelier? – when asked on Twitter what he will be doing at Restaurant Moro, Gallagher replied, “whatever they ask,” before saying that he has already made a flat bread this morning.
