In the evening slots, the penultimate Let’s Dance for Comic Relief attracted a high of more than 6.7 million viewers, while The National Lottery: Secret Fortune peaked with 6.5 million viewers.

Casualty followed with 6.1 million peak viewers, before Live at the Apollo banked 4.3 million, and Match of the Day secured 4 million.

Over on ITV1, Ant & Dec’s Push the Button, which is a popular choice among tweeters, achieved an average audience of 4.1 million viewers, while Take Me Out attracted 4.4 million viewers.

On Sunday, the ratings were more divided. BBC One dominated the morning slots with Match of the Day, The Andrew Marr show and The Politics Show. However, BBC Two’s Something for the Weekend and Live Athletics coverage also got a look in.

ITV1 was more or less the winner during the afternoon and evening slots with Columbo, Harry Hill’s TV Burp Dancing on Ice and Wild at Heart, though Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal banked the top spot for a 15 minute period at 5pm.

Dancing on Ice peaked with more than 8.1 million viewers, while Wild at Heart secured a high of 6.7 million viewers.
