Total terrestrial TV revenue for October, excluding GMTV, came in at £243.9 million according to agency estimates. Of this ITV brought in £181.3m (up 3.5% year on year), C4 brought in £51.8m (up 5.7%) and C5’s revenue was £10.7m (up from £9m in September). GMTV came in at £9.1m, down almost 7% from the previous year.

October impacts showed roughly uniform drops across the board for ITV/C4, with Housewives/Children showing the largest drop of 6.6% year on year to 5,852 million. Housewives slipped 3.6% while ABC1 Adults went down 4.4%. ITV/C4 adult impacts stood at 36,189m compared to 2,730m for C5 Adults.

The largest year on year rise in CPT for ITV/C4 was among Housewives/Children – up 11.3% to 4,829p – while the smallest was for Housewives (up 7.9% to 1,250p). The CPT for ITV/C4 ABC1 Adults was 2,123p compared to 1,399p for C5.

Again it was a bad viewing month for BBC1 and ITV with drops of 2.2% points and 3.2% points respectively. It was non-terrestrial channels which showed the only real increase: up 1.5% points to 12.2% (one of their highest ever share figures).
