According to agency estimates total terrestrial TV revenue for September came in at £212.54 million. Of this ITV brought in £156.71m and C4 £46.8m.
There were relatively substantial year on year losses in impacts across all categories for ITV/C4 in September. Men was the audience hardest hit, with a drop of 7.5% while the category to show the smallest drop was ABC1 Adults where there was a year on year drop of 4.3%.
Overall there were large year on year increases in CPTs across the board for ITV/C4, with all audiences seeing costs rise by between 15% and 19%.
September was another poor month for TV viewing, with only cable and satellite channels showing year on year increases – with a growth of 1.2% points to 11.9%. It was ITV which suffered the most, with a drop of 2.7% points compared with BBC1’s drop of 0.3% points. Channel 5 increased its share slightly by 0.3% points from August to 3.3%.
