TVCatchup launches new TV offering

TVCatchup, the Internet TV company, has announced the launch of a new catch-up TV offering, effective immediately.

The offering gives viewers one place to access all on-demand programming across the BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5, available alongside TVCatchup’s linear TV service.

Extended programme details are available for viewers to review, along with links to specific episodes or programmes directly on the Public Service Broadcasters’ (PSBs) websites. Viewers are redirected from TVCatchup to the broadcasters’ own sites, where they can watch the programme and explore other content.

The catch-up TV service is TVCatchup’s latest move into integrating with PSB programming and to give added value back to PSBs, beyond its existing rights and obligations as a cable operator.

Bruce Pilley, chairman of TVCatchup, said: “We’re looking for opportunities to work with the PSBs in mutually beneficial ways. Our catch-up TV offering will bring more viewers to the PSBs, adding to their own on-demand audience figures.

“The commercial operators – ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 – will also be able to show more ads to more viewers and benefit from additional revenues.”
