100 million Twitter users now log in to their account on a daily basis, meaning that half of the social network’s registered users are ‘active’.
400 million people visit the site each month, up 60% since the start of the year, according to Twitter’s chief executive Dick Costolo, who revealed that users are now tweeting in different ways – mainly on the move with smartphones and other mobile devices.
Costolo claims that Twitter will remain independent and will grow revenues through advertising. “It’s our firm belief that our advertising platform is the only revenue component that we need to have in the market in order to be a huge independent business,” he said.
