Twitter no longer to be LinkedIn

Twitter no longer to be LinkedIn

Twitter has brought its two-year partnership with professional social network LinkedIn to an end.

Users’ tweets will no longer appear on LinkedIn, but those registered with the site will still be able to post updates to Twitter.

A statement from Ryan Roslansky, head of content at LinkedIn said: “If you had previously synced your LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, and selected the option to share tweets on LinkedIn, those tweets generated from Twitter will no longer appear on LinkedIn. There will be no other changes to your LinkedIn experience.”

Twitter’s decision to withdraw its service is thought to be part of the company’s aim to encourage developers to build apps on the Twitter website, and not use its application programming interface (API) externally, as currently a large proportion of Twitter’s content is viewed on third-party websites.
