Twitter teams with O2 in SME advertising venture

Twitter has teamed up with O2 to help SME UK businesses with the roll-out of its Promoted Products service.

After initially being rolled out in the US earlier this year, the self-serve advertising platform is to open to small and medium sized businesses in the UK, Ireland and Canada from today, and aims to educate companies on how best to use Twitter to engage with audiences, as well as receiving credit to spend on Twitter ads.

“People come to Twitter to share information, follow their interests, and connect with brands and local businesses they care about,” Twitter wrote in a blog post on Thursday.

“With the availability of Twitter self-serve advertising, these companies can now increase the reach of the content they are already sharing on the platform.”
