According to a recent report by eROI, two-thirds of US e-mail marketers are making efforts to incorporate social media into their campaigns.
Additionally, research from StrongMail estimated that 71% of worldwide marketers have integrated e-mail and social, or intend to this year.
However, many are focusing on the basics rather than sophisticated techniques; for example, more than seven in ten business executives surveyed worldwide said they used Twitter, Facebook or other social networking sites in their e-mails.
Out of these social sites, the study found that Facebook was the favorite for integration with email.
More than 90% of marketers who combined social and email used Facebook in their campaigns, and only slightly less used Twitter.
By comparison, fewer than 50% of marketers integrated LinkedIn with their email programs.
