UK Businesses See Increasing Marketing Spend

Almost three-quarters of UK businesses believe that their marketing spend will rise over the next twelve months by levels up to or exceeding the rate of inflation.

According to a survey by Black And White Public Relations, 73% of respondents are expecting this rate of marketing growth, whilst 27% predict that budgets will remain static or fall.

The report also claims that 77% of firms are planning to spend more on their company’s website and 65% are looking to increase PR spend. By comparison, just 18% plan to increase advertising expenditure.

On a broader level, the survey found that 45% of companies believe that business investment will increase following the conclusion of the war in Iraq; 59% are ‘very optimistic’ or ‘fairly optimistic’ that sales will rise over the next six months.
