The UK is set to deploy UltraViolet (UV), the technology that enables users to purchase films which are recorded to a digital library.

UltraViolet, which is also available in the US, lets users access films and TV content on computers, internet-enabled TVs, tablets and smartphones via their online account.

Described on the UV website as “your entertainment, set free”, the service promotes itself as a digital library for films and TV shows, which can we used on multiple devices by a number of account members. Users can also stream UV titles over the internet, download copies for their devices so they can watch without online access and get a disc copies of the content they have purchased.

Horrible Bosses and Final Destination 5 will both be on sale in the UK on Boxing Day with UV.
