A new report by Activmedia Research predicts that online business-to-consumer (B2C) sales will reach $56 billion in the US by the end of the year. This is an increase of 103% on the previous year. The Real Numbers Behind Online B2C Vendors 2000 report claims that the sector will be worth $1.1 trillion by 2010, although its share of ecommerce sales is expected to fall in the future as other sectors of the internet develop their ecommerce facilities – B2CÂÂ’s share of Net revenues is predicted to fall from 47% this year to around 31% by 2010. Much of this revenue will go to the growing B2B sector.
