UTV has reported pre-tax profits of £3.664m for the 6-months to June 1995, this represents a year-on-year increase of 49.7%. Television operating profit rose by 24% to £2.783m and advertising revenue increased by 13% to £15.885m.
Announcing the results UTV chairman, John B McGuckian, said “UTV’s viewing share continues to be the highest in ITV – around 10% more than average – and these strong viewing levels contributed to revenue performance, as did the mood of optimism and expectation for the economy since the announcement of the ceasefire last autumn.”
