Viacom Launches New ROI-Specific Airtime Sales Office

Viacom Brand Solutions is launching an airtime opt-out and dedicated sales office to offer opportunities specifically to Irish advertisers on MTV and Nickelodeon.

The initiative will launch on 2 February next year offering advertisers airtime across each main MTV and Nickelodeon channels in the Republic of Ireland, separately to the opertunities available in the UK.

This will mean that MTV will be the only music channel and Nickelodeon the only children’s television channel available to advertisers wishing to target Irish consumers specifically in their own country.

Former RTE consultant Andy Farwell has been appointed to head up the new Dublin-based office office as sales director. He will put together a seven strong team that will work to create an opportunity for advertisers to target youth audiences more efficiently in Ireland.

Commenting on the launch Farwell said: “With over 80 per cent of homes receiving more than four channels, the Republic of Ireland is clearly a well developed multi-channel market. MTV and Nickelodeon are well-established television stations already, so as the Irish economy continues to boom, advertisers will now be able to enjoy improved advertising airtime opportunities in the Republic of Ireland.”

Earlier this week Viacom Brand Solutions brokered a deal that will see Nickelodeon support the release of Sega’s new Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg video game with a promotional campaign and a competition (see Viacom Brokers Sega Sponsorship For Nickelodeon Channel).
