Viacom Outdoor Offers Tube Maps Sponsorship

Viacom Logo In a deal valued at £2.7 million, London Underground is offering one advertiser a chance to own London with a 2-year sponsorship of Harry Beck’s iconic London Underground map.

The sponsorship, the largest of its kind, is also the only opportunity to sponsor a London Underground branded property on this scale.

The new sponsorship will run from January 2007 to December 2008 and is made up of 1600 large wall-mounted network maps and 19 million hand-held maps available from ticket hall racks.

The new deal will also see advertiser branding carried for the first time on over 500 wall mounted local area vicinity maps in ticket halls and a further 3 million vicinity map leaflets.

The London Underground map is known, loved and imitated the world over so this sponsorship offers incredibly positive brand association, with consumers on the move actively seeking out the maps to help orientate themselves in the capital.”
