Witness the fitness of these UK media and creative agencies

The heat is on as London’s top media and creative agencies are hopping, skipping and jumping this month in a bid to be crowned London’s fittest agency. This is all part of Freedman International’s industry-wide fitness challenge, F.I.T.

In support of ActionAid, the global implementation agency is paying for the winning team, plus the fittest male and female as well as the person who raises the most money, to fly out to northern Rwanda for 10 days in October to help build a much needed school.

Every participant has a Fitbit Blaze smart fitness watch and both agency and individual performance will be tracked in real time and posted on an active online leaderboard at www.witnessthefitness.live.

Currently storming ahead of its 19 competitors is M&C Saatchi, largely thanks to the efforts of creative director and mean machine Wayne Robinson, who is leading the charge of the 100 individual participants.

The tournament concludes on the 28 June so adland can expect to see a surge in physical activity as the teams make a final push to get those all important steps in. Still, at least there’s no excuse to turn up to client meetings late, albeit a bit sweaty.

“It’s excellent to see such enthusiasm and support from the agencies that have signed up to take part in F.I.T.,” said Kevin Freedman, CEO at Freedman International.

“Our 100 competitors will be tracked in real time by the smart fitness devices generously supplied by our client Fitbit, and come the end of June, we will know which the fittest agency is and who is the fittest exec. By participating, the teams are also helping to support a great cause.”

Ed Tait, director of fundraising at ActionAid UK, added: “A good quality education should be available to all children, and the education of girls in particular transforms lives and communities. The winning team will be making a significant positive impact on this situation by undertaking vital work to help build the Group Scolaire School, and it will be a life changing experience for those involved and the local community.”

We’re certainly excited to see who comes out on top and think it’s a great cause. The awards ceremony will be hosted during the first week of July. For now, it’s all to play for.
