YouTube arrives on Sky’s NOW TV

Sky has announced that the YouTube app is available on its Now TV box from today, downloadable from the Roku Channel Store.

The Now TV box turns traditional TVs into smart TVs for £9.99, and currently offers catch-up services from all terrestrial channels – BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 – alongside apps including Sky News, BBC Sport, Facebook and Flickr.

The box has also recently undergone a change in design in a bid to increase functionality and make it easier for users to navigate the apps available.

Gidon Katz, director of Now TV, said: “The Now TV Box offers a huge range of entertainment options to be enjoyed on your own big screen. The addition of YouTube means there’s even more to discover and experience.

“With the flexibility to dip in and out of great movies, entertainment or sport with the relevant pass from NOW TV, catch-up TV and now videos from your favourite YouTube channels, it’ll be hard to find an excuse to leave the sofa.”
