Yorkshire Tyne Tees Television is suffering a split between top management and directors over differences in how the company should be run. John Fairley, managing director of Yorkshire TV has submitted his resignation. Fairley is believed to have submitted a proposal to the board calling for more executives to be directly involved with running the business; this was rejected.
Executives who want change at Yorkshire argue that the majority of the board is more than 60 years old, and there is little representation for those involved in running the business or making programmes.
