YTV Votes To Accept Franchise

White Rose was forced to finally admit defeat yesterday when shareholders in Yorkshire Television voted to accept the franchise.

YTV shareholders had been asked to surrender the licence in return for a stake in White Rose, which put in a much lower cash bid.

Yorkshire remained confident, however that it could operate profitably despite the onus of the £37.7m cash bid.

The ITC had previously made it clear that any franchise rejected by the winner could be readvertised.
