Social TV provider Zeebox has published its latest round of consumer research from a sample of UK and US residents.
Key UK findings included percentage figures for smartphone ownership, where Android leads the pack with 28%, followed by 13% for Apple and BlackBerry respectively and Windows’ 7%.
Explaining the reasoning behind publishing the research, Zeebox director of insight, David Boyle said: “We would love people to take the data and see what they make of it.
“We would love to know what patterns people find”, Boyle added. The company is looking generate feedback from others in the market, and the report is available to view freely online.
Of all UK respondents, 50% log on to Facebook every day, compared to 13% for Twitter and 7% for Google+.
Zeebox’s research also encompassed two-screening, revealing that nearly half check their emails while watching TV (46%), 41% access social networking websites and 13% use Twitter.
A quarter of respondents professed to looking up information on the subject of the TV show they were watching, while 21% researched details surrounding the cast or specific actors and 7% used the TV show’s own app during the programme.
