Around 16.3% of French adults are now online, compared with 11.6% last year, according to new figures from Médiamétrie. The research also shows that around 35% of users go online on a daily basis, up from 28.1% last year. More than half (54.2%) access the Net from home, with 34.9% using access through work.
The study also shows that the number of women online is growing – up from 38.% in 1999 to 40.5% this year. Overall the number of users over the age of 18 grew by 45%, from 5.21 million to 7.56 million.
