Fetch launches in Japan

Mobile-first agency Fetch is to open a new office in Tokyo today – in combination with Dentsu and Dentsu Digital – as it continues its global expansion.

The partnership combines Fetch’s global mobile marketing and analytics expertise with the scale of Dentsu and Dentsu Digital’s digital operations. Fetch is already active in the Asia-Pacific region in Hong Kong, where clients include Expedia and Hotels.com.

Kensuke Hara will lead Fetch Japan as general manager and will report into Fetch’s global executive board as well as Dentsu and Dentsu Digital.

“We have long harboured ambitions in Japan because of the wealth of digital economy clients found in the country and also the incredibly advanced mobile consumers found in market,” said Fetch CEO James Connelly.

“We fully expect Fetch Japan to be one of our major offices in a short space of time complementing our existing European and USA presence.”

Fetch joined Dentsu Aegis Network in 2014 and operates globally for clients in 115 countries from seven offices. It employs 280 people.

The agency told Newsline that Asia will be a major focus in 2018 and it hopes to launch a regional hub for APAC in Singapore in its next wave of expansion.
