The Professional Publishers Association has called on the Government to refuse Royal Mail plans to stop Saturday deliveries.
Sajeeda Merali, CEO of the PPA, said the move will “threaten the sustainability of print titles” and the wider industry will be impacted by “a reduction in print capacity and higher costs.”
The postal company announced yesterday in a financial earnings report that it wants an “early” move to five-day letter delivery.
Many titles are mailed to land on a Friday or Saturday and already have to build in an extra day due to processing delays, the PPA warned.
