Emap Rejigs Ad Sales Team To Boost Revenue Streams

Emap Advertising has announced several high-level promotions within the company’s magazine sales team, including the creation of a new deputy sales director to drive new revenue areas.

Former head of men’s lifestyle and entertainment, Jason Trout has been promoted to deputise for magazine sales director, Carrie Barker, with responsibility for developing all revenue areas. The three magazine market divisions of Men’s, Women’s and Youth will report to Trout, as will Classified and Inserts.

The new deputy will also work closely with Barker to develop and deliver the magazine team’s client, creative and trading strategies whilst continuing to improve standards of customer service.

The company has also created a new role within its magazine sales team, charged with driving creative standards within the business. James Hayr has taken on the senior role and will be instrumental in supporting both the Cross Media and Creative Solutions teams by developing central ideas to help clients and their agencies translate brand strategies into media propositions.

Commenting on the changes, Emap Advertising’s magazine sales director, Carrie Barker, said: “I am really excited about these changes to the Magazine Management team. Jason’s wealth of experience in TV, radio and magazines, and his fantastic customer relationships, will play a vital part in helping shape our future strategy.”

Emap states its key priorities for the magazine sales team are to offer the best creative solutions and customer service in the market. The cross media and creative experience of both Trout and Hayr will be employed by Emap to achieve its goal.
