Opus Launches Dedicated Brand Partnerships Team

GWR’s sales house Opus has announced the creation of a dedicated brand partnerships team to forge stronger links between clients and programmers.

The move will allow the company to incorporate the former local radio group sponsorship and promotions teams with immediate effect under the leadership of programmer, Lizzie Moran, former sponsorship and promotions controller.

Each member of the new team will oversee specific programmes and projects across the network of 31 Mix stations. The portfolio comprises several big brand network programmes including The Morning Crew, Core Control, Late Night Love, Ministry of Sound, Sunday Revival, and pop concerts such as Summer XS.

Commenting on the creation of the new team, local radio group sales director, Peter Charlton said: “Opus have employed programmers in our national sponsorship team for many years which has allowed our customers complete integration with our product. Having a programmer running brand partnerships is a natural progression of this policy and should help this integration even further.”

Opus recently announced the first foray into the increasingly popular area of advertiser-funded programming with a series of specially created, hour-long shows to be broadcast on Classic FM with the backing of insurance company Prudential (see Classic FM Moves Into Advertiser-Funded Programming).
