Texts Sent In September Continue To Break Records

Text Message Text messages sent across the UK during September continued to break records, with new figures from the Mobile Data Association (MDA) revealing an average of 89 million texts were sent per day.

Person-to-person texts sent across the month increased by 25% compared to this time last year, resulting in the MDA revising its annual forecast to 32 billion text messages for 2005.

This record-breaking trend was continued from August, which saw an average of 87 million text messages sent per day, totalling 2.7 billion for the month (see Text Messages Break Records In August).

July also enjoyed a healthy performance, with texts reaching 2.7 billion for the month and person-to-person texts increasing by 23.5% year on year (see Over 100 Billion Texts Sent Across The UK)
