Uncut Signs The Arrow For Radio Partnership

Uncut Cover IPC’s music and movies magazine, Uncut, has signed a promotional partnership with regional digital radio consortium MXR, seeing the publisher create a weekly feature in partnership with the radio firm’s digital-only rock station, The Arrow.

Starting this month, Uncut will join forces with The Arrow to produce the feature, featuring music and commentary inspired by the magazine. The feature will also play music featured on the current cover mounted CD from Uncut, while members of the magazine’s editorial team will talk about the month in music and movies.

As part of the deal, each month will see Uncut featuring programme highlights from The Arrow, as well as publicising the station’s studio guests, upcoming playlists and special events within its editorial. The Arrow will broadcast trailers each month to promote the magazine and the show.

Commenting on the new partnership Uncut editor Allan Jones said: “The introduction of DAB digital radio has meant the long-overdue arrival of a dedicated quality rock station. The Uncut programme will be the perfect weekly complement to the magazine – bringing the music and features to life.”

Alan Carruthers, programming director of The Arrow added: “With its emphasis on the old and the new, the cult and the classic, Uncut features authoritative journalism and a sense of humour that sits perfectly with The Arrow’s core listeners. I am confident that this partnership will work well as the two brands have such commonality.”
