Emap Joins TV And Radio Management For Unified Ad Solutions

Darren Khan Emap Advertising has realigned the position of TV sales director Darren Khan to incorporate responsibility for the firm’s radio sponsorship and promotions team, meeting demand for campaigns spanning both mediums.

Khan will take on the additional responsibility with immediate effect, assuming the new title of head of Emap2 Radio, in addition to his current responsibilities as TV sales director.

Managing a team of 22 sponsorship and promotions staff, Khan will report to broadcast and interactive sales director, Karen Stacey, with his appointment marking the first time Emap has combined its TV and radio sponsorship and promotions teams.

Commenting on the appointment, Stacey said: “As advertisers and their agencies continue to seek greater engagement with their audiences, the importance of individual platforms becomes less relevant for them. Instead, the ability of great creative ideas to capture consumers’ imaginations, across any number or combination of platforms, becomes far more relevant.

“Advertisers are increasingly booking broadcast solutions across both platforms and it is with this in mind that this new team has been created – to offer ideas-led engagement across Emap’s broadcast brands. Darren has led the TV sales team with incredible enthusiasm and has a very successful track record in creative media. This is a great opportunity for him to extend that success into our radio business.”

Khan added: “The synergies between Emap’s music brands on its broadcast mediums is one that more and more clients want to exploit with integrated, engaging communications. This is such an exciting time for creative media partnerships at Emap2.”
