Press Gazette Could Be Rescued

Press Gazette, the trade magazine of the journalism industry, may have a future after all, after reports have emerged that a potential buyer has approached its administrator.

According to Press Gazette a potential buyer has approached Robert Allen, of administrators Vantage, with a view to rescuing the 41-year-old publication from certain extinction.

It quotes Allen as saying: “Watch this space. I can’t say much more because these things are sensitive but today is a new day. And I’m looking forward to it.”

This unexpected announcement follows the news that Press Gazette was to close, having gone into administration (see Press Gazette’s Battle For Survival Ends).
