IPC Country & Leisure Media Reveals Publishing Reshuffle

IPC Media Logo The specialist publishing division of IPC Media, IPC Country & Leisure Media (CALM) has announced a reorganisation of publishing responsibilities seeing a reshuffle of key figures within the department.

The changes will see Sarah Kemp, publishing director of Decanter, also taking charge of Country Life magazine.

Commenting on the reshuffle, Kemp said: “For 109 years Country Life has set a high standard for celebrating English life. It is more than merely iconic, and I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to build upon its unique heritage with the Country Life team.”

The current publisher of IPC CALM’s Equestrian Group, including Horse & Hound and Horse and Eventing, Simon Hare, has been appointed publishing director, joining the IPC CALM board. The new role will see Simon report directly to CALM managing director Paul Williams.

Elsewhere, Clare Seel, Decanter’s associate publisher was been promoted to publisher of the title.

Williams continued: “It’s truly gratifying to have such a depth of talent within CALM’s publishing ranks that filling these roles was an easy task. Sarah has done a fantastic job steering Decanter to continued success, and Simon has more than earned this promotion, managing our market leading equestrian brands through some of their most successful years. It’s great also to reward Clare for her outstanding work on Decanter with her promotion to publisher.”

Hare added: “I am absolutely thrilled with my new position. Not only is it a great privilege to be asked to join the CALM board, but I have the added good fortune of continuing to work with our equestrian team, in an industry which is really good fun and very exciting! 2006 will present its own challenges, but it is good to know I will be facing them with a seriously talented, energetic and enthusiastic team.”

All appointments are effective from March 13.
