Supernanny Triumphs Over The Restaurant

Supernanny Last night saw the new BBC Two reality show The Restaurant – featuring nine couples finding out if they have what it takes to run their own restaurant – soundly beaten by Channel 4’s own serving of reality, Supernanny.

Starring top chef Raymond Blanc, the BBC Two chef-fest seemed like a cross between The Apprentice and a particularly adrenaline filled edition of Ready, Steady, Cook, perhaps one where Ainsley loses Percy pepper and has to make do with Suzy salt.

The show, on at 8pm, had a peak audience of 2.1 million adult viewers (a 10.5% share of the audience) and an average of 1.8 million adults stayed with it for its hour-long running time.

Over on Channel 4 at the same time was Supernanny, where an absolutely disgusting little kid was put in his place by the indomitable Jo Frost.

Supernanny had a peak audience of 2.9 million adult viewers (a 14.8% share).

At 9pm on BBC One was the second instalment of Silent Witness, which returned for a new series on Tuesday evening (see Liverpool Lose Out To Return Of Silent Witness).

The mystery of just who had been involved in the crashing of the military helicopter was finally solved and a peak of 6.1 million adults (a 28.6% share) watched the thrilling action unfold.
