AOL Tests TV Listings Service

AOL UK is currently carrying out tests on a brand new TV guide which will include a search engine so that users can find videos online and programme their personal video recorders.

The TV guide, currently in its beta testing phase, is available to visitors to the http://tvguide.aol.co.uk website and there will be a further roll-out on the AOL portal in the coming months.

TV Genius, a television and online video search engine, has provided the technology for the service.

The guide enables users to personalise listings according to their favourite channels, set reminders by email, SMS or AOL Instant Messenger and find similar video available to watch online.

The software also allows users to set their Windows Media Centre PVR to record their favourite shows.
