The Bill Beats Holby Blue

The Bill The Bill managed to outperform BBC One’s Holby City police spin-off, Holby Blue, last night, with an average adult audience of over 4.8 million.

ITV1 took a 23.7% viewing share between 8pm and 9pm, compared to BBC One’s 17.3%, with over 3.5 million tuning in to the new cop drama.

BBC One managed to claw back the viewers in the 9pm to 10pm timeslot, however, with an exploration on the way a person’s identity can be stolen.

Identity Fraud: Outnumbered, which featured access to the City of London’s Economic Crime Unit, lured a little under 3.8 million (17.7%) compared to just over 3.3 million for ITV1’s Holiday Homes From Hell.

Over on Channel 4, a ‘Cutting Edge’ documentary about Alain Robert, a French climber who specialises in scaling skyscrapers without ropes, netted an audience of over 2.2 million adults on average, equating to a 10.5% share.

Meanwhile, Five’s House, starring Hugh Laurie, gained almost two million viewers (9.3%), whilst The Apprentice: The Worst Decisions Ever on BBC Two gave the station a similar share with slightly fewer viewers.
