7.2m See Simon Get Fired

Alan Sugar Simon was the latest wannabe to get booted off The Apprentice last night, after cracking under the strain of photographing shoppers at the Bluewater shopping centre.

A peak of 7.2 million adults tuned in to see who would be the latest business casualty, a 32.5% share of the audience.

The second most watched programme at 9pm, ITV1’s Rock Rivals, had a peak of just 2.4 million, or an 11.2% share.

On Channel 4 at 9pm was Child Genius, a documentary following the trials and tribulations of some rather precocious youngsters.

It had a peak of 2.2 million adults (a 9.8% share), putting it not far behind Rock Rivals.

Prior to that on Channel 4 was the Sarah Beeny fronted property developing show, Property Ladder, which, despite the current credit crunch and what it might mean for the market, still managed to grab a respectable peak of 2.9 million adults.
