Hollinger Disposes Of Jerusalem Post and Report

Hollinger International has agreed its second major disposal of the year by selling its Jerusalem Post and Jerusalem Report titles to Israeli publisher, Mirkaei, in a deal worth $13.2 million.

The firm, which was forced to reassess its business after former chief executive, Lord Black, became embroiled in financial misconduct investigations, is set to move the titles by mid-December this year.

Earlier this year saw the end of a lengthy bidding battle for the Telegraph Group, which was eventually won by the billionaire Barclay brothers, David and Frederick for £665 million (see Barclay Brothers Take Control Of Telegraph Titles).

The move brings Hollinger closer to disposing all of its newspapers assets, with only the Chicago Sun-Times, several local American newspapers and a number of Canadian titles left in its portfolio.
