First Radio Sales Wins Representation Of Kent Messenger Radio Groups

Subsidiary company of The Local Radio Company (TLRC), First Radio Sales (FRS) has today announced the win of the representation contract of the Kent Messenger Radio (KM) group of stations, giving FRS an additional six stations and increasing its coverage to 92 UK radio stations.

The deal with Kent Messenger means that FRS now represents nearly 10% of all UK local commercial listening hours. Commenting on the arrangement, Simon Clubley, advertising director of KM said: “We have chosen to work with FRS as we see significant potential benefits including increased revenues and membership of FDRS Meridian Group. The addition of the KM stations means that FRS is now the second largest group in the area.”

Neil Webster, managing director of first radio sales added: “In the past year we have delivered over 20% increased revenues to our clients. We’re absolutely delighted to work with the KM radio group. We specialise in making successful local radio stations easily accessible to national advertisers.”

He continued: “In the past year, many blue chip advertisers have used FRS Meridian including P&G, The Guardian, Vauxhall Motors and Abbey. The addition of KM’s stations will mean that we are now an even more significant force in the Meridian marketplace.”

The new contract will see Mike Daly, KM radio’s in-house national sales team leader, join the FRS management board today.
