Carat Restructures With Multi-Disciplinary Teams

Carat is implementing a unique client-team structure which will see six new flexible multi-disciplinary teams working on client portfolios.

Carat says that the new teams will unite diversified service areas including data analysis and evaluation, direct, digital, consumer insight and sponsorship, as well as core services of communications planning and media buying.

Steve Hobbs, former Carat head of media, will oversee the six multi-disciplinary business units in the newly created role of head of planning and integration, reporting to Carat managing director Neil Jones. His role will be both to ensure that business units are a providing market leading service in all key product areas, and that Carat products are being appropriately developed to address clients’ needs and fully exploit media owner opportunities.

Hobbs said: “The options and potential solutions we can offer clients are infinite and collaboration between the widening range of experts across all disciplines is paramount. We passionately believe communications have the power to transform business and we believe this structural development will allow us to efficiently provide clients with the most integrated solutions.”

The product development to support the new business units will be led by heads of discipline (in data, sponsorship, strategy, digital and direct), who will act as figureheads in their relevant specialism, focussing solely on providing insight into their particular communications arena. The new structure places integration at the heart of Carat’s business.

Neil Jones, Carat managing director, said: “This restructure has been driven by our vision to be champions of communications as a force for business transformation. We have taken the step of totally remodelling the traditional agency model from leaf to branch in order to facilitate a collaborative way of working. We believe that this structure will enable us to deliver on our stated promise to continually find new and better ways to connect clients with consumers.”
