Tiscali, the Italian internet company, has denied that it has sounded out potential buyers for its UK division.
A Tiscali spokeswoman said: “Tiscali UK is not for sale, and the story has no foundation at all. We are focused on pursuing the long-term strategy to build the UK and Italian sides of the business that we laid out in October, and a sale is not part of that plan.”
According to reports in the trade press, last week Tiscali sent a memorandum of sale to potential buyers, with a rumoured price tag of around £600 million.
