Emap Acquires Torcello For £20 Million

Emap has acquired Torcello Publishing Limited, owner of Infrastructure Journal, a subscription-based online information service aimed at the infrastructure project finance market, £20 million.

Infrastructure Journal is an online news and information service providing subscription services and networking events for participants in the project finance market.

Infrastructure Journal is a global business with 70% of its subscriber base outside the UK which Emap says will complement its existing presence in the construction sector through established brands such as Glenigan, MEED and AME Info.

Commenting on the acquisition, Derek Carter, chief executive of Emap Communications, said: “Infrastructure Journal is a great addition to our portfolio of business critical information services. It is highly complementary to our existing brands in the sector and we look forward to working with the team to leverage opportunities to grow and develop the business.”

Yesterday Emap announced that its underlying revenue has dropped 2% year on year (see Emap Records 2% Underlying Revenue Drop).
