Radio Companies See Medium-Term Profits Growth, Says Report

Great Britain’s leading commercial radio stations saw sales increase by 37% to an average of £5.4 million over the three accounting years to 1999/2000, according to The Prospect Shop‘s Business Ratio report. Profits rose by 101% to an average of £1.3 million last year.

“The last three full accounting years have been extremely prosperous for leading commercial radio stations in Great Britain,” reads the report. “Profitability clearly appears to be improving year-on-year. The average pre-tax profit margin for the industry as a whole has risen from an impressive 21.9% at the beginning of the period reviewed to 27.7% by the end.”

Business Ratio examines the accounts of 95 leading companies in the sector.
