RAJAR figures for Q4 2009 show that DAB set ownership increased by 13% year on year, with 17.1 million adults aged 15+ now claiming to live in a household which has a DAB receiver.
DAB listening now commands a 13.7% share of all radio listening according to the latest data, up 20% year on year.
Total hours spent listening to radio via DAB increased by a massive 20 hours on Q4 2008, to 136 hours, with a two hour increase on Q3 2009.

Share of radio listening via any digital platform increased 14% on last year to 20.9%, while listening to the radio via a digital platform in terms of weekly reach has also increased, up 5% year on year to 17.1 million people. It is down period on period, however, by 3%.
Total digital listening hours now stands at 206 million hours per week, up 11% on Q4 2008, although this figure too is down 3% period on period.

Listening to the radio via a mobile phone has grown steadily among those aged 15 and over, with a 7.1% increase recorded in the fourth quarter, hitting 6.7 million.
Delving deeper and taking a look at the 15-24 year old demographic, listening to the radio via mobile here shows a decrease of 2.1% year on year, although nearly 30% of people in this age group continue to claim they have listened to the radio in this way; around 13.5% say they listen once a week and 2.9% say they listen every day.
