ABC Conducts Review Of Reporting Schedule

ABC Logo The Audit Bureau of Circulations is conducting a review of current reporting frequencies across both national and regional newspapers and consumer magazines.

As part of an ongoing review process, Douglas McArthur, former CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau, and owner of strategic planning consultancy, Planning For Results, has been tasked to conduct a review of the current reporting frequencies.

McArthur will establish the views of media owners, advertisers, media buyers as part of the review.

The review process is due to conclude by mid 2007 and findings reported to the ABC Council, who will then consider if current reporting disciplines are still appropriate or should evolve in some way. ABC Council has equal advertising buyer and seller representation.

Chris Boyd, chief executive at ABC, said: “ABC constantly reviews processes and procedures. As a leading trading currency, ABC is always focussed on listening to its members and delivering to the needs of the market.”

Last week ABCe announced that it will now release web traffic figures for national newspaper websites on a fixed date each month. The body has announced publication dates for the reports, which were initially sporadic, with the next on April 26 (see ABCe To Regularly Release Web Traffic Figures For National Newspapers).

Monthly web statistics will be published alongside the ABC print newspaper figures in the recently launched Group Product Report (see ABC Launches Group Product Report), which can also include audited attendance figures to any related conferences or events.
