Adrian Poole joins Bauer Media as chief information officer

Bauer Media has appointed the BBC’s Adrian Poole as chief information officer to oversee the business’s entire technology deployment.

Poole leaves his role as director of IT and business systems after 14 years at the corporation. He succeeds Alan Alderson, who is leaving Bauer Media to become a technology consultant.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul Keenan, CEO of Bauer Media UK and Nordics said: “Adrian has vast experience which is directly applicable to Bauer and has demonstrated in multiple roles and projects that he has the leadership skills, vision and operational capability to advantage Bauer’s whole business through its technology deployment.

“I am looking forward to him joining us where he will find a highly talented, passionate and committed team of IT professionals. Under Alan’s diligent leadership we built robust and reliable technology and for that we are hugely appreciative.”

Poole, who begins his new role in early 2017, said: “It’s a real privilege to join this organisation and to lead such a talented technology team.

“I am keen to engage with all areas of the business, to ensure that we maintain technology’s alignment with corporate strategy and ensure we continue to deliver value and innovation for consumers, audiences and colleagues alike.”
